Hull City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Hull City in the three two victory over Brentford at the weekend at the KCOM Stadium was enough to earn Adkins a place as manager of the most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Adkins was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Adkins made an instant impact at the KCOM Stadium, where he guided his Hull City side to a 3-2 home victory over Brentford ? which subsequently earned the Tigers the EFL Result of the Day award. The hosts were trailing in the second half but, after Kamil Grosicki levelled things up, Hull kicked on and raced into the lead, giving the new boss three debut points.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Adkins for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Sam Johnstone (Aston Villa), Josh Yorwerth (Crawley Town), Matt Clarke (Portsmouth), Dan Burn (Wigan Athletic), Cristian Montano (Port Vale), Jack Byrne (Oldham Athletic), James Maddison (Norwich City), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Kemar Roofe (Leeds United), Sammy Szmodics (Colchester United), David Ball (Rotherham United).

Manager – Nigel Adkins (Hull City).
