Hull City right-back Alton Thelwell has agreed a one year contract extension with the club.

Alton had been waiting anxiously over the past week to see if he had done enough since returning from injury to earn himself a new deal and it appears he has.

Alton suffered sixteen months on the sidelines before making his return to the City side in late February. Since then, Alton made the right-back position his own again with a series of steady performances.

Alton didn’t only have to regain his form but had to regain his fitness and it appears he managed to prove this to the medical staff at the Tigers.

Alton’s new deal will mean he will be an integral part of the team next season and should be expecting to line-up at right-back in the Tigers first league game next season.

Alton has done terrifically to battle back from his constant injury problems and if he can put all those problems behind him then Alton can and will be vital next season.
