Hull City’s pre-season odds of 40/1 suggest the team will be struggling to stay in the Championship, according to BlueSq.com

Hull’s odds are only beaten by League 1 champions and rivals Scunthorpe United who are priced at 66-/whilst fellow Yorkshire side Barnsley are predicted to do the worse of the 24 Championship clubs with odds of 80/1.

Two of the relegated sides are the favourites to be promoted with Charlton Athletic leading the way on 6/1 whilst Sheffield United have been given odds of 15/2.

Surprisingly, Hull has been awarded the same promotion odds as last season’s surprise package Colchester United and as Queens Park Rangers.

The surprise in the early season odds are those of Leicester City. At 14/1, they have been made sixth favourites to win promotion from the Championship.

I’m suprised Colchester are so low. However, I do think they will struggle but I didn’t think the bookies would think that.

I won’t worry about what the bookies think at this stage. Lets face it, they had us as favourites for promotion as champions from the old Div3 for years. And to ensure they’re wrong, I’ve put a tenner on us going down.
