Brown – ‘Two Or Three To Bring In’

Phil Brown is looking to add a further two or three players to his City squad, but will not be drawn on revealing any targets.

The City manager did reveal that there would be no players trialled at tonight’s behind closed doors friendly with Derby County, instead stressing that the emphasis remained on ensuring his players were match fit come August 16th.

Hull continue to be linked with a host of names, the most recent being Greek striker Angelos Charisteas and PSG defender Sammy Traore as the National press try to second guess the thoughts of Phil Brown.

The news of Hull’s reported £2 million interest in Charisteas has dismayed Stoke City supporters despite Brown neither denying or confirming the link. Stoke felt they had moved into poll position for the experienced Euro 2004 winner after speaking to the striker’s club after Ipswich Town dropped out of the race for his signature.

A second striker is still expected, likely to be Marlon King or Fraizer Campbell whilst a defender must remain one of Phil Brown’s top priorities despite the loan signing of Anthony Gardner on Monday.
