Cardiff v Hull City – Changes have an impact

I must confess when City dropped Elmo and put out a lightweight attack in Aluko and Hernandez I was worried.

How wrong I was!

Diame produced a glorious finish and although we conceded a lot of possession in the second half we provided the perfect counter attack when Hernandez scored a deserved second.

Odubajo seems to be improving every game and without Elmo his runs and crosses provided a glimpse of things to come. On the opposite flank Robertson showed a lack of maturity getting booked and was lucky not to be sent off!

I have long been a critic of Hernandez but I have to take my hat off to him. Unlike Jelavic he has knuckled down and worked hard. Even though his first two goals were hardly spectacular his tally of 3 in 7 is good.

It looks as if Steve Bruce may have found a good combination which is all the more pleasing in an away game. I still think Aluko is lightweight and I’m looking forward to seeing Diamande over the next 3 home games.
