Hull City juniors took the first steps to a league and cup double last night, winning the Puma Youth Alliance Cup Final at Colchester.

The final, played at Colchester United`s Layer Road groud saw Billy Russell`s City team came away 3-0 victors with goals from Liam Cooper, Bill Law and Jamie Devitt. The only downside to a fantastic night for the City youngsters was the sending off of Liam Cooper for deliberate handball. Colchester missed the resulting penalty to add to their misery.

The Tigers led 2-0 at half-time before adding a third during the second half and now only a heavy defeat to Darlington in the league will prevent Russell`s side marking an excellent season with a league and cup double.

With the youth side performing well this season, it may only be a short-time before we see some breaking into the first-team squad. Last night`s cup winning team is shown below:

Ben Hallam, Steve Gardner, Nathan Hanley, Anthony Hilton (Sidhu 85mins), Joe Lamplough, Liam Cooper, Jamie Devitt, John Leonard (Raymond 68mins), Bill Law (Cullen 60mins), Ryan Kendall, Tom Cairney.

Subs: Aaron Raymond, Joe Fox, Nav Sidhu, Freddie Rawson, Mark Cullen.

Jack Smelt, Nathan Speed, Ben Griffiths, Adam Bailey-Dennis (Marvell 66mins), James Hammond, Mitchell Nelson, Russell Malton, Josh Oakley (Pirie 80mins), Fabian Quintyn, Perry Sansford (Corcoran 45mins), Jeremiah Olusanya.

Subs: Sam Corcoran, Jordan Larty, Jimmy Pirie, Kyelan Marvell, Jordan Pavitt.
