Derby…The Interview

Ahead of our game tomorrow evening, we’ve asked the Derby County editor ‘Bloomer’ to give us his thoughts on the match

You have a good manager in Billy Davies – are expectations high?

Pretty high – Davies’ record at Preston, coupled with a new board and sizeable investment, means we are optimistic again after a dismal season last year.

You had a good result against Southampton but then lost to Stoke – how has the start been?

Mixed – first hour against Southampton was good, but we seemed to run out of steam. The Stoke performance was dire for the whole 90 minutes, hopefully it’s a blip.

You’ve bought in Steve Howard – are there any others to follow?

We also picked up Ryan Smith from Arsenal & Matt Oakley from Southampton, and last night signed Dean Leacock from Fulham – we are still short of a couple of defenders and a couple of strikers, we’ve been bidding for Freddy Eastwood but it would appear unlikely that we will get him.

Who’s been the best player so far, even if it is still early on?

Tommy Smith

Which player is the weak link in the first team?

Michael Johnson – gives 100% but must be the world’s smallest centre back – if he plays, expect lots of free kicks as he climbs over your strikers!!

Which City player would you take to Derby County if you could take one?

Myhill, he looks a quality keeper.

Can we have a score prediction?

Both teams are due a win…….I’ll stick my neck out and go for 2-1 Derby.

Thanks again to Derby County’s editor ‘Bloomer’…Have a good journey to any Rams making the trip but I hope you have an unhappy one!
