Evandro has been speaking of his hopes at having an injury free 2018 as he really looked to show the Hull City fans what he’s capable of.

Having come in from Porto for an undisclosed fee last January, this weekend marks his first 12 months at the KCOM Stadium but in that year he’s only made nine starts with seven coming from the substitutes bench and a return of only one goal will have disappointed the 31 year old.

Speaking to the Official Site this week with three appearances under his belt for the campaign, he’s now looking for a run of fitness to really get himself going at the club.

‘It has been a horrible year for me in terms of football and I was extremely frustrated with how the past 12 months have gone on the pitch. I came to England with the aim of playing in one of the best leagues in the world, but sadly I kept picking up injuries which have stopped me playing games.’

He went on to say.

‘Hopefully that is behind me now though. I know I have to keep working hard to get fit and be in the best physical condition I can possibly be. I want nothing more than to be back on the KCOM pitch but I have to stay focused. I think my only aim for 2018 can be to get back fit and contribute to the team during the next year.’

Reflecting on 2017 he again spoke about how difficult it had been for him.

‘2017 was a very difficult year for me with the injuries, but I’ve got to believe 2018 will be better for me and I can finally show the fans what I can do on the football pitch. They have been very supportive of me in what has been a very difficult period of my career, so I can’t wait to wear the shirt on a regular basis once again. The Championship looks very physical and very tough. I didn’t know too much about the Championship before I came to England but in the summer a lot of people told me how fast-paced and direct the league is. It’s difficult, but I’m looking forward to tasting a proper bit of action in the league.’
