The Tiger suffered their first defeat in nine against Sheffield A in the Pontins Holidays League Cup 2 days ago at Saltergate.

This now means that Sheffield will top the group, where as Hull must wait to see whether they have done enough to qualify for the knock-out stages of the competition.

After only eight minutes, a corner from the left by Ross found Nalis, who’s turn and shot beat Leite in the Tigers goal.

The score didn’t change until half-time, but within ten minutes of the restart, the Tigers had turned it around, with two goals from Scott Wiseman on 51 and 55 minutes.

However Sheffield United came back. Oliver scored on 69 minutes, sending a shot into the top corner which Leite could do nothing about. Five minutes later, a diagonal cross by Wright was headed back across goal by Robertson, allowing Shaw to net the winner on the half-volley past Leite.
