The 2016-17 season seems a distant memory, which it is really as plans are afoot, now all in place, as far as Hull’s pre-season preparations are concerned ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

It will be here before we know it and another tester for City ahead of the 2017-18 Championship season has seen a pre-season friendly against 2017 Europa League runners up Ajax – beaten by Manchester United – announced.

Hull will play at Ajax’s training ground for this meeting with Dutch giants Ajax on Friday 28th July, kick off has been confirmed as 2pm BUT this is a behind-closed-doors meeting.

Of course, as with any pre-season friendly, the main thing to get from this is a challenge and the continuation of fitness being built up – a game such as this should tick all the relevant boxes.

This pre-season friendly will form the latest, confirmed as the final, phase of boss Leonid Slutsky’s preparations as he looks to guide Hull to success in the Championship next season and mark his debut campaign in England with an instant return to the Premier League.

Hull’s full schedule was listed on the Official Website:
