Hull City are set to turn their attentions for a new goalkeeper away from Fulham after being priced out of a move for David Stockdale.

Steve Bruce has been dissuaded from making a move for the Fulham keeper on learning of a £3 million price-tag for the 27 year old who featured on 24 occasions over two loan spells in City`s successful promotion campaign.

Bruce was keen to add Stockdale to The Tigers on a permanent basis having seen the club rely on several loan signings in recent seasons, providing no long-term solution to the goalkeeping position following the sale of Boaz Myhill to West Bromwich Albion.

Should Fulham be unwilling to negotiate on their demands for Stockdale, City are understood to be monitoring the situation of both Chris Kirkland (Sheffield Wednesday) and Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City) with Eldin Jakupovic currently the only senior goalkeeper at the club.

Not good enough to warrant £3M; we’re quite right not to throw money around, he’s not the only goalie in the world.
