Anthony Gerrard has been awarded Hull City`s Player of the Season award.

Widely expected and already revealed by the player on his official Twitter page, Hull City`s official website confirmed that the on loan Cardiff defender had won the coveted award, fending off interest from Liam Rosenior and MAtty Fryatt who finished second and third respectively.

25 year old Gerrard has been a key component of Nigel Pearson`s defence, making 41 appearances since joining on a season long loan deal from Cardiff City in September. The centre-back was also useful in the opposition box, scoring five times including winning goals against Derby County and Preston North End.

Former loan midfielder John Bostock won the Goal of the Season award for his stunning debut goal against Swansea City. Despite the impressive start, the midfielder made just 11 appearances before returning to Tottenham Hotspur in December. Bostock left his mark however, not only scoring a fine goal against Swansea City but a sublime free-kick at Elland Road during a 2-2 draw with Leeds United.
