Hull City – ‘Papertalk’

The first transfer rumour of the summer has started and the season hasn’t even finished yet.

Hull City’s number one goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has again been linked with a move away from the club, this time with three Premiership clubs chasing his signature.

Myhill’s name is constantly linked with a move away from the club and the same three teams seem to be targeting the City shot-stopper again: Sheffield United, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic.

However, the City goalkeeper is unlikely to be allowed to leave for anything under a million pounds if any bid is to be forthcoming this summer.

Myhill started his career as an Aston Villa youth player but the Midlands club allowed him to move on-loan to Macclesfield before the Tigers signed him for only £50,000.

The City keeper soon asserted himself as the club’s number one keeper and the American born goalie helped the club achieve back to back promotions.

Regarded as one of the best shot stoppers in the Championship, it is easy to see why several Premiership clubs are interested in his signature. However, questions still remain over the goalkeeper’s positional play, his kicking and his ability to command his area.

This rumour is one that has done the rounds for the past two seasons, and in my opinion, it is continuing to do so. The move is unlikely, but if the big offer arrives, we should look at cashing in on the player.
