Hull City v QPR – A point is the most we deserved

Hull city struggled to a point against a resolute QPR side.

It was a case of “after the Lord Mayor’s show” following the great win at Cardiff.

I found it strange that Elmo was missing at Cardiff and still stranger that he was still missing against QPR.

We started brightly and Aluko should have scored early on. QPR had hardly been in our half when that man Austin twisted in the air to score a great goal. Where was the marking?

We then got back in the game with a great captain’s goal from Dawson. The game then drifted to half time.

In the second half we let QPR run the show and were lucky when Chery blazed over when it seemed easier to score.

In truth we missed the steel of Meyler in midfield and the crosses of Elmo. What is going on with him? Odubajo seems to grow in stature every game and looks a very good buy both in defence and wing play. Hernandez will run all day but we rarely see a quality end product. Aluko was against his infuriating best, always trying to beat another man.

Let’s hope we have a quality striker in Diamande and it’s not too long before we see him. Akpom must wonder when his next full game will come!
