Hull City reserves start 2007 with a 2-1 win over Lincoln City reserves

Hull City fielded an experienced side as the reserves started 2007 with a 2-1 victory over Lincoln City reserves.

Several first-team squad players featured including Daryl Duffy, Michael Bridges and Nicky Forster whom formed the Tigers front three.

Hull fell behind on the stroke of half-time as Martin Gritton headed in to give the visitors the lead going into the interval.

Michael Bridges was replaced at half-time with Nicky Featherstone moving up-front as James Bennett was accommodated in the three man midfield.

Hull eventually equalised in the seventy-third minute as Nicky Featherstone crossed into the box. Forster headed the ball down and Rusell Fry levelled, scoring past the Lincoln keeper.

Hull then grabbed a late winner three minutes from time. Atkinson’s ball down the left evaded the Lincoln defence and Duffy was allowed to cut in from the right to steer his shot into the bottom corner.

The Tigers had come from behind to win the match, with Daryl Duffy, a man reportedly attracting interest from Rotherham United netting the winner. However, the striker wont have done his chances of being involved in tomorrow’ game any harm, especially as Phil Brown has promised to keep up the attacking football that has seen City climb out of the relegation zone.
