Hull City have confirmed the capture of Barnsley centre half Angus MacDonald.

The 25 year old comes into the KCOM Stadium for an undisclosed fee and he’s put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal, with Hull holding a 12 month extension on top of that.

He was made club captain at Oakwell at the beginning of the season and he leaves them having made 54 appearances following his arrival in 2016.

Having come through Reading’s youth set up, MacDonald played for Wimbledon, Salisbury Town and Torquay United and he represented England at Under 16 and 19 levels.

Speaking to the Official Site after signing his new deal, the player explained.

‘It`s a big step for me and I`m looking forward to getting going here. This is a big club and a chance for me to progress my career. When you arrive at a club, you`re always going to have to fight for a place in the team and I`ll look to do that by trying to impress in training.’
