Inter Milan? Hull Hopeful Of Silva Lining

Marco Silva’s had a very good impact since his arrival at Hull in January but his future remains uncertainty – the City boss is actually being linked with Italian giants Inter Milan.

Silva was initially brought in on a deal that would take the boss through until the end of the season, nothing beyond this point had been mentioned… until this week, when it was revealed by the Hull Daily Mail City actually DO hold a 12 month option on an extension.

However, this option would ONLY apply in Hull’s favour should Silva manage to secure City’s Premier League status. Should that become the case few would argue against the Portuguese boss continuing at the KCOM Stadium into next season, at least, would they?

A potential spanner in the works, fly in the ointment, call it what you will, could be reported interest from Inter Milan in appointing him at the San Siro at the end of the season in place of Stefano Pioli.

This would work out well for on-loan Hull defender Andreas Ranocchia, the Italian international doesn’t have a future with Inter Milan under the current setup – you tend to think he would if Silva was appointed? But if City can stay up we’ll hope the ‘Silva lining’ will be that BOTH stay at the KCOM?

Positively Silva, 39, was one of several other names, some a little more high profile, mentioned in connection with the job at the Serie A club.

First things first, Hull need to secure Premier League survival then the rest, in a positive light all being well, will take care of itself…
