Goalkeeper Allan McGregor is set to feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday, two weeks ahead of schedule following a thigh injury.

McGregor has missed the last four weeks of action since featuring in the 2-1 loss at Everton. Veteran Steve Harper has deputised in the Scotland internationals absence but McGregor looks set to reclaim the number one jersey after returning ahead of schedule.

Steve Bruce won`t make a decision on whether to include McGregor in his team until Friday with any continuing fitness doubts seeing Steve Harper continuing in goal.

City midfielder Stephen Quinn is meanwhile an absentee after suffering a hamstring strain on international duty with the Republic of Ireland last week.

Speaking on the injury, Bruce said; ‘It’s a bit of a concern to us but we’ll not know more until we have a good look at it. I’m not sure he’s recovered 100 per cent from the injury he picked up in Germany (in pre-season) so it’s important that we get it right.’
