Hull City face Burnley at the KC today, looking to cement their position in the top six against a side who hold unhappy memories for City supporters in recent years.

Burnley have won their last six fixtures against The Tigers through a combination of poor refereeing decisions, crazy defending and generally shocking performances from City. Last season, at 2-0 up with fifteen minutes remaining, City contrived to throw away three points and lose 3-2 as Jay Rodriguez scored a last minute winner.

This year, City appear a different prospect under the guidance of Steve Bruce and City will look for a win to continue their recent momentum before current league leaders Crystal Palace visit the KC on Tuesday night.

Bruce heads into the game with no new injury worries. Liam Rosenior has been declared fit to play while Paul McShane continues to be sidelined. In goal, Bruce is likely to field his new acquisition, Fulham`s David Stockdale, as Ben Amos moves to the bench.

Burnley will be without Kieran Trippier who was sent-off against Charlton last week. Cameron Stewart, on loan from City, will be unable to feature against his parent club, although the winger has been out of favour since making his move. Burnley are also aided by the returns of Ben Mee and Ross Wallace to the first-team.

Vital Hull Prediction: City 3 – 1 Burnley
