Hull City`s last home match of the 2010/11 season ended in disappointment as Nigel Pearson`s side managed just a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, who ensured survival thanks to the point.

The first half was described by Nigel Pearson post-match as the worse half of football at the KC he had seen from his side this season. Apart from an occasional long range strike, The Tigers rarely threatened, and for long periods were put under pressure by their lowly opponents.

Despite being under pressure, which saw several last ditch challenges and blocks keep their clean-sheet intact, The Tigers went in at half-time one up. Robert Koren`s free-kick was headed back across goal by Jack Hobbs, and his defensive partner Anthony Gerrard steered the ball into the net from close range.

Hull had earlier lost Richard Garcia to a knee injury, just as they had done during victory over Doncaster Rovers, and these persistent injuries must be a concern to the City manager.

The second half saw City show more attacking style, especially after the introduction of Tijani Belaid, with David Amoo switching to a central role alongside Matty Fryatt. The Liverpool youngster posed problems for the Palace back-line, but apart from two long range Koren strikes, Palace were rarely troubled.

At the other end, Palace offered nothing in attacking, and City looked to be comfortable winners. That was until substitute Ibra Sekajja scored his first professional goal with his first touch, condemning City to another disappointing home result while Crystal Palace earned another season in the Championship.
