Hull City suffered a horrific night at Elland Road as Nigel Pearson`s side lost 4-1 to their Yorkshire rivals.

Pearson was forced into one change as Tom Cairney was ruled out with a groin injury. Andy Dawson was introduced in what was a surprising move, with Joe Dudgeon moved forward into midfield.

The game itself saw City enjoy a brief superiority during the middle stages of the first half, a period which saw City draw level. After good work between Robert Koren and Matty Fryatt, the formers cross was turned into his own net by Leeds defender Lees.

This own goal followed a lively start by the home side, which had seen Keogh fire wide, Nunez hit a crossbar and McCormack head over before the former Cardiff striker opened the scoring. McCormack`s first header was pushed upwards by Gulacsi, and the Scottish striker had a simple rebound to score.

After his own-goal, Lees put his side in-front just before half-time. The defender was given the opportunity after a poor defensive clearance following a dropped catch by Gulacsi. Lees was given the time in the area to curl high into the net to restore the home side`s advantage.

Despite the introduction of Aaron Mclean, one player who would could out with credit from the game, Leeds immediately scored a third after the break as Robert Snodgrass scored a long range free-kick from the Leeds right.

An energetic Aaron Mclean saw a powerful header well saved by Lonergan to deny City a route back into the game before a breakaway goal from Leeds with City pushing forward for a goal. City`s defence was caught out of position, allowing Nunez to drill into the net low from twelve yards to seal the victory for the home side.

The result leaves City in the lower positions of the embryonic league table with the visit of Crystal Palace to the KC Stadium on Saturday.
