Hull City`s fine away form continued as they took a point from promotion chasing Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The Tigers record unbeaten away run was extended to 16 following the 1-1 draw, which edged City closer to 6th placed Leeds United but left the travelling fans with a small sense of frustration that they could not win the game.

Swansea demonstrated why they are a top six side, neatly passing the ball but with a lack of end product. The dangerous Scott Sinclair was well covered by Liam Rosenior, while Nathan Dyer caused more problems down the left, resulting in an Andy Dawson yellow card.

Swansea`s best chance of the half came from a Dyer run, the ball across goal stopped by a combination of Duke and Chester before City cleared.

The home side created and wasted several chances through Borini, Moore and Gower, while City were also wasteful with Gerrard, Evans and Harper all firing wide as neither side could find the target.

The second half saw Nigel Pearson make a change, introducing Richard Garcia for Aaron Mclean. Swansea would take the lead through a long range Mark Gower strike, but City levelled just seven minutes later as Corry Evans side footed in from Jay Simpson`s cross, the former QPR striker only just on as a second half substitute.

The goal ignited City`s hopes of a winner while Swansea fell to pieces. The new space saw City play neat attacking play, with Simpson and Fryatt denied by fine saves from De Vries, Dawson heading wide and Robert Koren wasting a glorious one on one chance, failing to round the keeper when a simple shot to his side would have sufficed.

Swansea eventually responded through Luke Moore, but Matt Duke kept City`s point intact.

With Leeds losing, City moved to within 4 points of Leeds to set up a nervous finale to the Championship season.
