Hull`s transfer targets are starting to become sought after as deals continue to lag for Marlon King and Abdoulaye Meite.
Due to Marlon King`s insistence of a compensation package from Wigan Athletic, Hull attempt to sign the £3 million rated striker has taken longer than expected. Despite having personal terms agreed, which would involve King taking a pay-cut to join Hull City, Derby County have now emerged in the race for the striker with a loan move having the potential to be more appealing to Wigan Athletic.
Meanwhile, Hull continue to search for another centre-back to join Michael Turner and Anthony Gardner. Bolton`s Abdoulaye Meite continues to surface on Phil Brown`s radar although West Brom are also in contention.
Despite Hull`s opening bid of close to £2.5 million being rejected, West Brom are hoping a £2 million offer today will tempt Gary Megson into selling.
Greek striker Angelos Charisteas, also a target of Stoke City, waits as the two promoted team reportedly fight for the striker, although neither manager has made a comment to suggest they are that interested in the striker.

Really don’t think King has the right firepower we are looking for, we need someone a bit more proven, but can’t think of anyone else we could sign…..other than Fraizer obviously!
I think these would be 2 great signings and aint west brom just signed a centre half?Cant see King goin to Derby and if he does it be for money.
From what ive seen at the the European championship tournaments Charisteas looks quality. Sign him up Browny!
Marlon IS money driven…. He thinks his better than he is.. DON”T sign King he will upset your tight knitted dressing-room… Believe me we know…
Irrespective of what we all think looks like brownie wants King
it seems as Paul says that Sir PB sees something in King that he believes can work………………..
It happens all the time. You think nobody knows but the agents are double dealing.
I don’t think King is good enough for the premiership, we already have as good, if not better.
