Defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday confirmed relegation for Hull, meaning Andrew Robertson will probably play his final game for the club against Tottenham – Liverpool have apparently agreed a deal?
Yes, we’ve heard it all before. A few weeks ago it had been claimed Liverpool’s interest was strong and a switch to Anfield was Robertson’s most likely destination at the end of the season whatever happened in Hull’s relegation battle.
The Daily Mirror reports Hull have agreed an £8m fee with Liverpool and Robertson, 23, has concluded personal terms with the Reds so this deal will officially go through when the summer transfer window kicks in.
Robertson, subject of a failed £10m bid from Burnley in January, is set to move into the final 12 months of his current deal at the KCOM Stadium – a contract extension isn’t likely meaning the Scottish international would probably leave at the end of his deal if not sold this summer.
Will this ‘agreed deal’ actually be the one for Robertson? We’ll find out soon enough but I think we can safely say the former Dundee United defender isn’t going to play in the Championship next season.
