The first long awaited day of the summer arrived on Saturday – the launch of Hull City’s new home kit for the 2006/07 season.

After the launch, it seems Tigers fans are happy with the new kit with 74% saying it was an improvement on last years.

The shirt features a thicker strip than last years and the white areas off the previous years shirt has been removed. Diadora have continued to make the clubs kit whilst Bonus Electrical have continued their sponsorship deal, now entering a fifth season.

For the first time in the clubs history, the shirt will feature a sponsor on the back of the shirt in the form of local partners Gemtec. Whilst some fans have been skeptical about the appearance of a logo on the reverse of the shirt, it seems it hasn’t put fans of liking the new design.

Overall, the kit looks a lot better than last seasons. Many fans were unhappy with the quality of the shirt and hopefully the club have addressed the problem this time.

13% of fans say that they didn’t like the new design whilst another 13% wished that the club had remained with last year`s shirt.

Since the club has changed their shirt twice in the space of a season, reductions have been put into place in order to encourage sales of the new design.

It looks like the designers have got something right. Judging by the response, it looks like you’ll spend plenty of money for the new shirts.
