Hull’s Championship season continued with a draw at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

A deficit was taken into the half time interval by Hull, in the early kick-off, when Forestieri finished into the corner but Hernandez, who it was reported could have been ‘rested’ by Bruce, continued his goalscoring form of late when he drew the Tigers level early in the second half to earn a one-one draw.

Knowing three-points would have taken Hull second the Tigers started well but couldn’t force a real clear chance and even though it came against the run of play with the half hour approaching Wednesday took the lead.

Forestieri (28) was able to turn quickly and fire an effort low into the corner from 10-yards.

Sheffield Wednesday had chances to double the lead, Joao saw McGregor able to just about keep out his effort with the Owls’ loanee Bannan unable to hit the target with another chance that he fired wildly over.

Hernandez (51), which came following a double save by Wednesday ‘keeper Westwood, keeping out efforts from Maloney and Livermore, had Hull level early in the second half.

The Uruguayan almost had Hull ahead too but his header was well saved by the Wednesday ‘keeper with McGregor almost beaten by his own teammate Robertson but he pulled off a fine save to keep Hull level.

As a winner couldn’t be found the unbeaten run was extended by both sides, which now stands at five-matches apiece.
