The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Barnsley were denied a vital win by a late QPR equaliser, whereas fellow strugglers Brentford – fresh from a weekend win – collected another point, also in a draw against Derby.

The Bolton troubles didn’t ease as the Trotters slipped to a ninth defeat in 10 at Bristol City.

However, Aston Villa’s winning run was extended to three – they are now unbeaten in the last five – as Burton were put to the sword at the Pirelli Stadium, which leaves Villa just outside of the play off places.

Cardiff moved to the top of the table on Tuesday with a victory over – then – joint leaders, technically top, Leeds at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Preston and Ipswich recorded wins to remain in the chasing pack behind the likes of Cardiff, Leeds and Wolves. North End won at Hull and the Tractor Boys thrashed Sunderland, who remain third bottom.

Another defeat for Nottingham Forest – a fourth in five – was suffered by Forest, one of the early season favourites to challenge, when Fulham left the City Ground with the points.

Here’s a round up of the Championship results with some games to take place.
