In a goalless first half the closest to the break through came just before this when Ahearne-Grant couldn’t hit the target.

This changed in the opening minutes of the second half though when Gudmundsson’s cross into Makienok (52) was headed past McGregor, with the Hull ‘keeper keeping this at one-one when he pulled off a fine save.

After going close one Hernandez (89) looked like he had rescued a point when Arsenal loanee Hayden was denied by the post and then his follow up blocked.

With both sides looking to maintain unbeaten records it was Hull who thought they had won it when Hernandez headed home, only to be ruled offside however the was still time for Charlton to be the side maintaining that record!

Makienok turned provider for Berg Gudmundsson (90) who headed the winner deep into injury-time.
