Playing with 10-men for the vast majority of the game Hull looked like they would win today, until a late goal denied us.

Hull had to dig in today but until a late equaliser our 10-men were on for a win over Stoke City today, in the end it ended 1-1 at the KC Stadium.

It started as a difficult afternoon for James Chester and it last just 14-minutes when he was shown a straight red card for a foul on Glenn Whelan, having been played into trouble, it was set to be a difficult afternoon….

Stoke, as expected, had a lot of possession but weren’t threatening too much with it with Mark Hughes making a change before the breaking as he brought on Bojan for Whelan and we were immediately the side that struck!

Steve Bruce’s side, who had travelled to Belgium in midweek for a Europa League play-off match, worked hard to defend the lead after the break but visibly tired with 20 minutes to go.
Hughes – whose side only managed three shots on target in the entire match – threw on striker Peter Crouch and attacking midfielder Charlie Adam for Marko Arnautovic and Steve Sidwell and the pressure started to mount on the hosts.

Against the odds, the excellent, Nikica Jelavic (42) followed up to give us a one-nil half time lead. Asmir Begovic had saved Tom Huddlestone’s effort but the striker followed up at the far post.

We defended resiliently but finally after Phil Bardsley’s shot had hit the post and bounced out off Alan McGregor it was left to Ryan Shawcross (84) to force home the equaliser.

The goal itself probably wouldn’t have come had the officially not incorrectly given Stoke the throw-in that led to the goal, as this clearly came off a Stoke player but sometimes you get those breaks against you!

Think you guys were unlucky today, think you deserved the 3 points and were better value for the win. Was never our throw in for Shawcross’ goal. All the best for the season – Tom, Vital Stoke.
