Hull vs QPR – Preview

Hull City take on Queens Park Rangers tomorrow looking to win by three goals in order to move up another place in the Championship table. Having escaped the drop zone after an impressive away win at Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City will now look to extend the gap between themselves and the bottom three. The corresponding fixture at QPR was one of previous manager Phil Parkinson’s worse as Hull City lost 2-0 to a side being managed for the first time by John Gregory. City will know a similar result is not acceptable and a win is a must as we look to survive in the Championship.

Vital Quotes:

Hull City Team News:

Dean Marney and Damien Delaney will both return after missing the F.A Cup tie against Middlesbrough due to suspension. Danny Coles is expected to return to the bench whilst Ryan France should return to right-back in place of Sam Ricketts.

Craig Fagan’s transfer to Derby County gives one of the current crop of strikers a chance to shine in the first-team although Brown is expected to name Parkin, Barmby and McPhee as his three attackers.

There may be places on the bench for Daryl Duffy and Michael Bridges whom both played in the reserves mid-week.

Player to watch: Nick Barmby

The attacking midfielder has been pulling the strings in recent weeks and he must continue to do so if City are to survive in the Championship.

Providing we can keep the player fit, City must be in with an excellent chance of avoiding the drop.

QPR Team News:

QPR have no fresh injury worries but striker Kevin Gallen has left the club after joining fellow Championship side Plymouth Argyle.

Sampsa Timoska has received international clearance to sign for QPR and he will be available for selection in tomorrow’s game.

Player to watch: Nick Ward

The midfielder was the supposed target of several Premiership clubs but ended up signing for QPR. The midfielder will have to be closely watched as he has the potential to be a match winner on his day.

come on city……we need the win..we need the points and we can do both if we continue to play and attack last the last couple of games…..

Yes, a must win for both teams – though not sure I agree with your comments about QPR…

Nick Ward has been something of a disappointment for Rangers and has barely featured. He’s had a few starts recently due to injuries and shown one or two flashes, but that’s about all. Cookie’s the man you’ll need to watch. Couldn’t believe the skills and balance he showed against Luton last week in torrential rain and unbelievably skiddy pitch (which had narrowly passed a pitch inspection).

3-0 to Hull? Vey optimistic on your part. We have some great goal scorers if only our midfield will give them the service.

Rangers performances have been so eratic of late – if Bircham is fit and Cook and Smith are on song in midfield and if Blackstok and Jones click up front, it could just as easily be 0-3… or anything in between!

Difficult one to call, it could go either way, but I don’t think by more than one goal.

2loftus, Goal scorers are nothing without supply. We found that out and our midfield are starting to show that they can match up to any in this league, if your struggling in that part then be prepared for a few knocks from Ashbee and Livermore, other then that 3-0 is a bit optimistic my money is down on 2-0 to city… Without supply QPR’s scorers have nothing to work with same goes for any team really

This is a must win game to pull another team in the relegation battle and who knows we could finish mid-way this season, now there’s a thought.

1 of the few 6 pointers that we have coming up but with the waythe team is playing at the minuet we should hopefully come out on top

  • Nottingham Tiger says:

Home advantage will make all the difference, come on!
