Tiger nation goes south

Image for Tiger nation goes south

Both teams are curently in a poor run of form and will both will be looking to get their season’s back on track with a victory. QPR have now suffered four defeats in a row after a 2 nil loss at Preston North End. Hull stopped their run of defeats in their last outing, a 1-1 draw with Southmpton, but have failed to win in five.

Vital Quotes:

Peter Taylor on the match:

‘This is another big game for us because QPR are a little bit low on confidence at the moment. We need to get another point or three on the strength of us stopping the rot on Tuesday night.’

Queens Park Rangers Team News:

Defender Danny S**ttu will miss the game after picking up his fifth yellow card in the outing against Plymouth Argyle. Marc Nygaard, Marc Bircham and Steve Lomas are all still recovering from injuries and will miss the match. They are unlikely to be back for another two weeks yet. Tommy Doherty is also unlikely to feature as tests on his leg proved inconclusive. Further tests were carried out today but he is unlikely to be part of the squad.

However, Paul Furlong has returned after serving a four match ban. His presence in the team will be a welcome boost, as they have lost all four games they have played without the big striker.

Player to watch: Kevin Gallen

Voted player of the year for QPR last season, Gallen is always a constant threat. His aerial ability and ball control can cause defences problems, and with the inclusion of Paul Furlong back in the team, Leon Cort and Sam Collins will have their hands full trying to keep tabs on these two dangerous strikers

Hull City Team News:

Hull still have injury problems. Andy Dawson and Roland Edge are both still out injured and Damien Delaney will fill in for their abscence. Keith Andrews is still doubtful to return to action.

Hull will be without striker Chris Brown, who has been recalled from his loan spell with the Tigers and goes straight into the Sunderland squad to feature in the premiership clash against Birmingham City on Saturday.

His abscence may well see Taylor revert to a 4-4-2 system, playing either Paynter or Fagan up-front with Nick Barmby, who has been in good goalscoring form of late. Stuart Elliott may feature again on the left, otherwise the squad should remain unchanged for the trip to the capital.

Player to watch: Boaz Myhill

The ex- Aston Villa goalkeeper has been in outstanding form of late. Hopefully he wont be preesed into too much action, but if needed to be called upon, will be a match for any striker. Many clubs have been watching him, but hopefully he will remain a Tiger for many years to come.

Match Facts & Stats

QPR have lost their last four and with Hull having 1 point from 15, both teams need a victory.

QPR have won four of ten home games this season, with Hull winning only two of their nine away from home. This will be a vital match for both teams and sets of supporters.

0-0 on the opening day of the season, both teams may take that this time around ?

Match Prediction:

This match may be close. Both teams are in a bad run of form so both will be looking to be cautious at the start. A tense atmosphere to match, it could end up rather scrappy. Whoever can get hold of the ball and pass it around better will undoubtedly have the advantage. A tight match though that I feel will end in a 1-1 draw, but would love to travel down to see the mighty Tigers win.
