Tigers v Charlton

After Saturdays convincing win over Ipswich, Tigers boss Phil Brown will be looking for more of the same when City play hosts to Alan Pardews Chartlon Athletic on Tuesday night, which will also mean the return to the K.C of ex Tigers boss Phil Parkinson.

Charlton currently find themselves handily placed in 3rd place in the Championship after suffering just one league defeat all season, the former Premiership big boys will be hoping to bounce straight back into the top flight and will be eyeing City as another potential 3 points in the bag.

Vital Quotes:Charlton Assistant Phil Parkinson

‘I’m obviously disappointed things didn’t work out for me at Hull because it’s an excellent club. I was delighted they managed to stay in the Championship last season, and they have continued to move forward this season.’

‘They are a very honest side, and every club that goes to Hull knows that you will need to give 100 per cent if you want to come away with anything.”, ‘It still rankles with me that I wasn’t able to make a success of things there, but that’s football and it’s a business based on results.

Hull City Team News:

Tigers Boss Phil Brown is likely to stick with the same eleven that started against Ipswich, although with a potential new signing on the horizon, there may be one or two changes in defence. Henrik Pederson should be fit to start his second Tigers league game and he will be hoping to carry on where he left off against Ipswich. Caleb Folan has an outside chance of making it but he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Player to watch: Jay Jay Okocha

Worth the admission money alone just to watch him play, has quickly become a terrace favourite and if he can work his magic then the Tigers should be purring.

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Addiks Boss Alan Pardew has a wealth of talent at his disposal and he could well be making changes from the side that drew at Coventry on Saturday. Ex Tiger Loanee Danny Mills has moved to the Valley to give their defence a bit of stability, alongside Mills could well be ex England Left Back Chris Powell, Algerian international Madjid Bougherra and experienced centre back Johnathan Fortune. Last seasons leading scorer in the Championship Chris Iwelumo is expected to lead the line alongside Luke Varney, although Bulgarian international Svetoslav Todorov could well be pushing him for a starting place. Add to that a midfield of Andy Reid, Lloyd Sam, Chinese international Zheng Zhi and Portugal U21 international Jose Semedo and its not hard to see why The Addicks are among the favourites for promotion.

Player to watch: Zheng Zhi

The twice Chinese player of the year is the creative heart of the Charlton midfield and his battle with Ian Ashbee could be the key to City winning or losing.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

Tough game for City, with Charlton only losing once on their travels this season, if Okocha can bring out the best in Pederson & Windass then City may sneak it, although my head says a 1-1 draw.
