Hull City head coach Nigel Adkins has said he expects Nottingham Forest to pose a different test when we face them this weekend.

It has of course been less than a fortnight since we faced them at the KCOM Stadium in the FA Cup and took a two one victory, but we head to the City Ground with a new look to our opponents as Aitor Karanka strengthened during the window, so Adkins isn’t reading too much into the last tie.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media to preview the game, Adkins explained.

‘I don`t think our recent result against them will have much impact on what happens this weekend because they have signed six or seven new players since then. We played them at our place and won, and it was a good and deserved victory for us. We go and play them away from home now and I would imagine that it will be a totally different game. It`s one that we`re looking forward to and it should be a good game.’

He added.

‘I`ve managed against Aitor Karanka before and they have brought some experienced players in. They may need some time to bed in but it`s going to be another tough game. They`ll be good in possession and we have to break them down.’

With the last five games on our travels seeing losses by a goal margin (four 1-0 scorelines), Adkins is hoping to draw a line under that and pick up a much needed three points in the away tally.

Asked how that could be achieved.

‘It`s about improving our conversion rate. We`re having chances and we`re having opportunities. At Preston we put the ball into the attacking third of the field 82 times, but it`s about how we put the ball into the back of the net from there. That is what we`re working hard on in training.’

Part of that is confidence and belief so players show the necessary composure when chances come their way.

‘We have a belief in what we do and we`re working hard at it. It`s about the next opportunity now and that is against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.’
