Manager Steve Bruce has spoken of his pleasure at taking victory over fellow promotion chasers Brighton and Hove Albion in today’s FA Cup tie.

Hosting Chris Hughton’s side at the KC Stadium for the third round decider, Hull took the one nil victory courtesy of a goal from Robert Snodgrass as he dispatched a penalty shortly before the half time break.

Having booked their place in the fourth round draw, Bruce was particularly delighted with the performance his changed side put in, as dominating possession on the day and with almost 20 chances in total at goal – seven on target – a very solid and compact defensive showing also saw the visitors leave with only two chances to their name and neither of those attempts testing Eldin Jakupovic between the sticks.
