Boaz the Best So Far

With a winning percentage of 80%, Boaz Myhill was the convincing winner of the poll results as to who has been the Tigers most important player so far this season.

The American shot-stopper has been in fine form all season and pulled off a number of great saves, which have helped the Tigers try to consolidate in this division. Impressive performances even saw him earn a call up to the Welsh International team, however, such is the ambition in Boaz, he turned them down to try and make an impact as an England goalkeeper, something that Taylor has tipped him to do.

However, Taylor recently criticised the star goalkeeper after the defeat to Brighton. This can be seen Here

This criticism from Taylor was very harsh on Bo, so Boaz will be looking to bounce back with a good response and keep a clean sheet in the vital game against strugglers Crewe Alexandra.

Commanding centre back and Mr. consistent Leon Cort was voted second by Tigers fans. The defender is so crucial to any success we may have this season, and him and Boaz will be a huge factor if we stay in the division.

Leon was a steal at only £50,000 from Southend United, and was a constant performer in last season’s successful promotion campaign from League 1. Is always a threat from set pieces, which is why I would wish we just crossed the ball in for him more often than all the fancy stuff we try and do – which doesn’t usually work.

For me, Leon has definitely been our outfield player of the season so far, and the partnership with Collins was looking good. Damien is also now providing extra cover in front of the back four playing in his new midfield role.

In third place came Craig Fagan. For information on the player, he was the first to be featured in the ‘Under the Spotlight’ feature, which is available Click Here

His direct running is always a threat to the opposition and is a player who never gives up. The sort of determination we are going to need to survive this season.

Damien Delaney received 3% of the voting, where as Nick Barmby and John Welsh both received 2% of the voting each.

In the end a clear and convincing winner to the poll, but lets hope all players can up their game and help us move up the table and away from the drop zone.
