Brown’s Right-Back Decision

Sam Ricketts’ sending off last week at Coventry has given Brown a selection dilemma as he attempts to find a suitable replacement for the Welsh international.

The defender serves his one match suspension today after he was sent-off for two yellow cards during Saturday’s 1-1 draw. Ricketts represented his country in mid-week in Bulgaria, but he will be missing from today’s line-up.

Fortunately, Norwich winger Darren Huckerby is unlikely to play meaning the right-back in today’s team will have a slightly easier day.

Against Coventry, Andy Dawson was called into action as a makeshift right-back and he did well for the twenty minutes he played in an unorthodox position.

Hull manager Phil Brown has several options, with Danny Coles and Nathan Doyle also able to play in the right-back position. Doyle represented the reserves in mid-week in the right-back spot but he may have harmed his chances by giving away a rash penalty.

The former Bradford player, who was voted their player of the season last year despite moving to the Tigers in January faces competition for today’s place from Danny Coles who is expected to be favored over Doyle.

Vital Hull asked you who should play right-back today after matty17x suggested the poll:

Doyle 66%

Coles 8%

Dawson 13%

Delaney 13%

Phil Brown’s decision will be evident at 2 O’clock this afternoon when the first official team news is revealed, but the poll results show who the City fans favor.
