Hull City’s chances of picking up a positive result at Cardiff have been boosted with the news that several Cardiff first-team stars have been ruled out through injury or suspension.

Michael Chopra, Cardiff’s main threat up-front will miss the game as he starts to serve his two match suspension following his late dismissal after the final whistle of Cardiff’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

Cardiff boss Dave Jones will also be without the suspended Simon Walton. The on-loan Charlton midfielder is currently serving a five game suspension after his sending off against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ricardo Scimeca and Jason Byrne are both absent through injury whilst centre-back pairing Darren Purse and Glenn loovens are both rated as doubtful for the match although their does remain the possibility of an appearance from one or both of Cardiff’s influential defenders.

Neil Alexander may be handed a game in goal as Saturday’s game is expected to be his last in-front of the Ninian Park supporters.

Hull City also have injury concerns with David Livermore still struggling with a knee injury and Lee Peltier still not having returned to training after suffering a bruised thigh during Saturday’s draw at Stoke City.

If neither player makes it to Cardiff on Saturday, Brown is expected to call upon Dean Marney to be the third man of the trio in midfield, although Danny Coles is another possibility if Brown wants to take a more defensive approach at Ninian Park.

Give Marney a go … I think this could be when he just comes good for us and shows us the player he is truly capable of being !

just need to be careful that the cardiff second string and youngsters may get their chances and have everything to gain and nothing to lose…meanwhile we will have everything to lose if we are not focused with them….
