After a disappointing performance against Coventry, City host the visit of Ipswich in a vital match, in which they will need to show better than last time out.

Vital Quotes:

After Saturday’s game, manager Phil Brown said to the Official Website: ‘We’ll now look forward to Tuesday against Ipswich and it’s a massive game. The positive we can take from Saturday is the second half performance and that is what we have to look at.’

Hull City Team News:

Andy Dawson wasn’t used on Saturday but will come into the reckoning. Essentially the same as Saturday, as Nick Barmby is still at least a week to 10 days away from full fitness.

Player to watch: Ray Parlour

Parlour still hasn’t completely settled in, but the game could be the right one for him to really shine and dominate proceedings.

Ipswich Town Team News:

On-loan Francis Jeffers will probably start again for the Tractor Boys. Gavin Williams, Richard Naylor and Fabian Wilnis are still not ready to play.

Player to watch: Jon Walters

Ex-City player who had a dose of seriously bad luck in his family life, has now settled and has started to do for Ipswich what he couldn’t manage for City. He scored against QPR and will be looking for another.

Match Facts & Stats

Ipswich don’t travel well, with only two draws and four defeats in the last 6 away games, thankfully City’s home form is better, with 3 wins from their last 5 home games.

This season, Mr Salisbury has been one of the more restrained officials with just 52 yellow cards and 4 red cards from 24 games.

He last refereed City when they played Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season, when City won 2-1. However, he did book 5 players that day, Ashbee, Dawson, Livermore for City, Lunt and Sam for Sheff Wed.

Assistants; D Naylor and I Nolan
Fourth Official : C A Barker

Match Prediction:

Given the respective form of both teams, a City victory could be on the cards, 2-0 City.

Best of luck with the run in. If we could get rid of Luton with Leeds and Southend that would be great! See you next year.

We must get all 3 points. I see this as an early decider and if we win I think we’ll stay up. If we lose it then I think well go down.

Best wishes to you all and for god’s sake keep em crossed!

City need at least 4 points from the 2 home games this week and a win tonight is the best way to start getting them. Slightly worried that we’ve never lost at home to them though!!

  • South Bank Tiger says:

Nothing less than a win is required tonight – otherwise despite having 11 games left I would seriously doubt our ability to escape the drop this season. COME ON YOU ‘ULL!!!

  • Ed Junior says:
