As expected the part cash part player swap deal seeing Sam Clucas depart Hull City for Swansea City, with Stephen Kingsley coming in the opposite direction, was confirmed yesterday evening.

Clucas heads out for an undisclosed fee, signing a four year deal as he returns to the Premier League.

Having signed from Chesterfield back in the summer of 2015, Clucas went on to make 96 appearances for us, scoring nine times as he helped us to Premier League promotion via the Play Offs at Wembley.

The club wish him the best for the future.

Arriving in the opposite direction, also for an undisclosed fee, is 23 year old Kingsley who can play as a left back or a centre back and he signs a three year deal at the KCOM Stadium with a further 12 month option.

He made 17 Premier League appearances for his former club after making the move from Falkirk back in June 2014 and having represented Scotland at Under 18, 19 and 21 levels, he had also received one senior cap for his country.

Speaking to the Official Site after completing his switch, the player explained that he was obviously in search of far more regular game time and he wanted to get his career really up and running now.

‘I`m delighted to get the deal done. It`s come around quite quickly but I`m just delighted it`s got over the line now and I can`t wait to get training in the morning. It`s time for me to really kick on now and get plenty of games at a very competitive level like the Championship.’
