Coles Sees Red

Hull City defender Danny Coles was dismissed midway through the second half of the Tigers match with Leicester City.

The City defender saw red after bringing down substitute Leicester City striker Matty Fryatt as he bore down on goal. Lee Probert had little hesitation in brandishing the red card at Danny Coles.

The City defender was lucky not to be sent off after only three minutes in a similar situation which eventually saw the player sent-off.

Coles let a long-ball to bounce, allowing Leicester striker Elvis Hammond to muscle the ball away from Coles. Having been released through on goal, Coles brought down the Leicester striker on the edge of the area.

Amazingly, Lee Probert didn’t even brandish a yellow card, but when Coles committed a similar offence, he wasn’t going to get away a second time.

Speaking after the match, Phil Brown revealed that Coles could have no arguments with the decision that will see the player suspended over the New Year period.

Michael Turner will be reinstated into the team to partner Danny Coles whilst he serves his suspension. With his first-team opportunities having been cut short since Phil Brown was appointed, Turner now has a chance to cement his place back in the Tigers first-team.

Dont think it was a red card but maybe he deserved it after what he did in the 1st half.Poor perforamce from everyone only Delaney played well.Hope Turner comes in and plays really well.We are in trouble. We need some money to spend on decent championship players with out selling our best players again.

Adam needs to have his head screwed on in January, plus I think he needs to start reminding the team that the level of performance shown isn’t good enough. After all, HE’S the one that authorises the monthly salary payments, doesn’t he?
