After the delight of the win against Southend it was back to business and the prospect of a much tougher game against Norwich who although only being 6 points away from us before the game would prove that they are no easy task to try and beat them ?

The same starting eleven were employed in this game as they had deserved their chance after a good solid display against Southend with Windass looking for one more goal to make it 20 for the season and also to become our top scorer outright for the season ?

Barmby made it back to the bench after injury with Bridges making way.

It was City who had an early chance with Delaney going close from a corner ? although after that Norwich started to turn up a gear and put pressure on City with a few chances ? although City were dangerous on the break and Ashbee hit the post from 20 yds and the ball seemed to roll across the line from where I was sat! I really thought that was in ?

After that Norwich carried on with pressure and came close a number of times before Huckerby bundled the ball into the net although Myhill felt he was impeded and rushed up field to make his feelings known only to get himself booked for the trouble ?

Half Time – Hull City 0 – 1 Norwich City

City came out in the second half with a little bit more urgency as they looked to try and get an early equalizer ? although at times this left us exposed at the back and Norwich always looked like hitting us on the break ? the trouble was we were doing a lot of work but there was at times nothing up front at all to finish the work off ?

Barmby came on for Elliott and to be honest you could tell he had missed a few games as he looked nowhere near match fit ? Soon after this Norwich took a two goal lead when they broke and Huckerby neatly crossed for them to score ?

Vaz Te then came on and certainly added a bit more skill up front, I have a feeling he may start on Monday against wolves and would hope he does ? After that Marney came on for Peltier and we seemed to be creating more chances ?

Windass then hit the post from a free kick before Dawson struck a lovely free kick with a couple of minutes to go to give us some hope of an unlikely equalizer ? Their Keeper held on to the ball afterwards which infuriated Barmby and he ended up in the book ?

Dawson had another free kick but unfortunately could not replicate the first and it was deflected off the wall ? we had a good penalty shout waved off as the game finished and Norwich ran out in my opinion deserved winners ?

Full Time – Hull City 1 – 2 Norwich City

Anyway Player Ratings.

Myhill – 6 ?Controversy over the first goal for which he was aggrieved to say the least ? Still concerned with his over all form ? if a 7 figure offer came in for him in the summer it would be best for us, and himself, if we allowed him to move on ?

Dawson – 7?The Pick of the defense for me ? his form of late is brilliant and his free kicks are getting better and better ?

Delaney – 6?Hustled by Dublin and out powered yet again by a physical centre forward ? Tried to get the team going forward though when he had the ball ?

Turner – 6?Much the same as Delaney, strength seems to be one thing that we seriously lack at the minute is dealing with strong forwards ?

Ricketts – 6?Given the run around at times from the best player on the pitch (Huckerby) but no worse than our centre half pairing were by Dublin ?

Peltier – 6?Not as good as his debut but not to be ashamed by his performance as the ball bypassed him a fair few times, not afraid to get stuck in and personally like the way he likes to get forward whenever he can ?

Ashbee – 6?Got himself stuck in as usual ?

Parlour – 6?Not his best game but I feel he was a little over run in the midfield with two people on him as soon as he got the ball ?

Forster – 6?I think maybe after the last couple of games we expected a bit too much from him as you cannot repeat what he has done game in game out ? rest him on Monday for Vaz Te or Barmby maybe?

Elliott – 5?No real impact in my opinion, better coming off the bench, Monday would be one game too many for him

Windass – 7?The best of forwards I thought but unfortunately did not have the support of the rest of the front line to try and create something against a stubborn back line for Norwich ?

Subs.

Vaz Te – 7?Pick of the Subs for me and needs to start on Monday ? worked hard and very lively, not afraid to beat one or two men when needed ? again needs to start on Monday ?

Marney – 6?Not bad when he came on ? looked lively enough but no real end product to his play (how many times have we seen that this season!)

Barmby – 6?Still looked injured to me and very short of match practice obviously ? would let him have a good half an hour against Wolves and look to involve him more against Colchester ?

Managers Performance – 6?Nothing to bad really, at the end of the day we were beaten by a better side which sometimes you just have to take on the chin and move on to the next challenge ?

Ref Watch – 5?Not great, again we had a ref and one linesmen who seemed to give everything to the away team ? it gets frustrating but the fact remains we are the highest fouls conceding team in the division … Coincidence?

Crowd Watch – 7?Tried to get the team going and really came on good at the end when a sniff of a draw was there ?

Where to from here? – Wolves away and a tough tough game that I personally cannot see us getting anything out of ? having said that Wolves have now lost their last two so who knows?
