Elliott – CCC Standard?

Image for Elliott – CCC Standard?

After opinion was divided on whether Stuart Elliott was up to Coca-Cola Championship standard, we at Vital Hull ran a poll asking if he was. The results follow…

In a narrow victory, 46% of readers said that Elliott was up to the standard required to compete at Championship level.

Against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, Elliott was once again running at the defences rather than looking for the pass straight away. In League 1, Elliott tormented defences with his direct running and although he will never be as successful in the Championship, there were glimpses he was willing to have a go again – largely down to Phil Parkinson`s new managerial tactics.

Stuart Elliott is a frustrating player as he drifts in and out of games, largely only noticed when he scores a goal but providing he gets off to a good start, Elliott’s goals and performances may be vital this season.

However, 44% reckon Elliott isn’t up to the standard required and perhaps these fans wished we had sold the player when there was talk of his value being over £1 million – it’s nowhere near that now. The other option is to let the Northern Ireland winger have more time to find his form and 10% of readers voted for that option.

I feel Elliott will be a good asset this season and even if he doesn’t always show his best form, he is a decent player to have in the Tigers squad.

We now have a new poll suggested by dazdude – ‘Will Barmby figure in the team this season?

Vote now and we will reveal the results after the AS Nancy friendly.

I said he is CCC standard! I think he showed enough against Villa and at times (although not often) last season

Parkinson must rate him as he has gone on record as saying that he would like to buy someone to provide back up down the left. A bit of healthy competition might be what Elliot needs. Remember, form is temperory class is for life.

i rekon we will see a much better player out of him this season if hes allowed to attack more

I voted YES and think he will be much more effective in an attacking line up, double figures this season!!
