Elliott On The Move

Hull City winger Stuart Elliott is expected to be the subject of bids from other Championship clubs this week.

Radio Humberside have reported in their morning sports bulletin that Leicester City and Birmingham City are both interested in the player with an offer of around £500,000 expected to be the amount bid.

After watching the player’s performances in the three substitute appearances he has made this season, it would seem the club should jump at the chance to accept half a million pounds for a player that many fans believe is playing at a level too high for his capabilities.

After struggling in his first Championship season, Elliott remained the club’s top scorer with a measly seven goals but the player wasn’t able to recapture the form that saw him score twenty-nine goals in League 1. Despite this, it seems he is still attracting interest.

Elliott is a frustrating player who apart from scoring a goal rarely seems to do anything else during a match. For a player who has struggled in this division, it seems odd that Birmingham City, a team highly tipped to make an immediate return to the Premiership, would bid for a player who struggles in the Championship.

If the bids are forthcoming, Phil Parkinson will be in a similar situation to the transfer of Billy Paynter. Parky may not want the player to go but this offer would be too good to turn down – with Mark Yeates on a season long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, Parky has cover for the left wing with Ryan France also providing competition for the position.

With the sale of Paynter and the possible departure of Stuart Elliott, an extra £700,000 transfer money may be very useful with which to strengthen the team before deadline day on the 31st August.

Hope he does leave,He aint the same player he used to be but if he goes thanx for everything other the years Stu.We need to move on and use this money we have from Billy and Stu to buy a top forward. My suggestings are Trundle,Eastwood or Sharp maybe.
