The former Tigers boss is in the frame to replace Peter Jackson, who was sacked by Huddersfield Town last week following a poor run of results. Original choice Ronny Jepson, a former Huddersfield town player, ruled himself out of the running today and it is thought that Parkinson is next in line.

The former Tigers boss is currently assistant to Alan Pardew at Premiership Charlton but it is thought he wants to branch out for himself. Having had succesfull league one experience with Colchester, a return to the lower reaches may well appeal to him.

During his short term at Hull City he struggled to stamp his authority on the team and spent the majority of his tenure in the relegation zone. His record at the K.C read P24, W5, D6, L13 and it was that form which eventually led him to leave by ‘mutual consent’ in December 2006.

If he does become the new boss of Huddersfield then we at Vital wish him all the best in his new position.
