Falkirk’s Head coach John Hughes was quoted as saying:

‘Darryl is out of contract at the end of the season,’

‘But, if he stays at Falkirk and scores the goals that keep us in the SPL, that would be worth its weight in gold.’

Falkirk have already rejected a 175,000 pound bid from the Tigers in the summer and the pressure is on them now with Sheff Wed, Cardiff & Watford also showing an interest.

But Hughes has said he has no intention of selling the Scottish U21 player.

‘First and foremost, we want to see what Darryl wants to do and are hoping he wants to stay here,’ he said.

‘We want to keep Darryl and I would like to think he will be here for the next couple of years, but it’s his decision – simple as that.

‘I don’t think we have to sell anyone, we are not in a position where we need to sell anyone – we don’t need the money. We are not flush, but we are OK financially.

‘I would like to think he will be here for another two-and-a-half years, who knows.’

‘It might get taken out of my hands, but I very much doubt it because I do all the contracts here and do the agent work,’ he said.

‘If there is anything coming in or going out, it is my decision and I would not have it any other way.

‘I have worked very closely with the board of directors and it’s all a case of us sitting down.’

I think its just a case of wait and see,but from a fans point of view i dont think it would be the right signing for City at this stage of the season. What we need is a proven Premiership/Championship striker who can help us cement our place in the league.
