Forgotten striker Jay Simpson handed a timely reminder to manager Nigel Pearson with his cameo appearance at Ipswich Town.

Being used for the first time in six weeks, Simpson emerged from the bench to score seven minutes after his introduction, scoring an exquisite header from ten yards to earn The Tigers a point at Portman Road.

The draw kept City within touching distance of the play-offs; and Pearson had much praise for a player that has had to bide his time in recent weeks.

Simpson`s impressive performance now leaves Nigel Pearson with a selection dilemma tomorrow night, with Simpson hoping to oust either Aaron Mclean or Matty Fryatt in the starting line-up for the first-time since both strikers arrived at the club.

While Simpson has re-established himself back in the City first-team fold, another striker now back in contention is Caleb Folan who has returned from Colorado after his trial spell in America.
