Midfielder Tom Huddlestone has completed his permanent transfer to Derby County.

Derby met the release fee in his contract and he exits the KCOM Stadium with 133 starting appearances with a further 29 showings from the bench. In that time he scored eight times for us following his £5million arrival from Tottenham Hotspur back in August 2013.

The club have not officially announced the value of the transfer fee but speculation suggests it’s in the £2million realm.

The Official Site quote vice chairman Ehab Allam as saying of the deal.

‘We recently met with Tom’s representatives, prior to receiving the offer from Derby to discuss a new longer-term deal on improved terms. I feel this stated our intention to keep Tom at the Club, but ultimately the decision to leave was down to Tom and his representatives. Whilst obviously disappointed by his decision we will continue to work on new signings and expect additions early next week.’
