I’m back, for how long I don’t know but I thought I’d do you a quick report for you!

Hull City began their 3rd spell in the Premiership after all the turmoil of the summer with the potential new owners looking on.

Mike Phelan was so short of players he had to play Jake Livermore at centre half. Elmo reverted to full back in the absence of Odubajo and Jakupovic continued in goal.

Leicester played a full strength team with absence of the suspended Huth.

Leicester began brightly with Vardy having a couple of chances that last year he would have buried but both went high or wide.

The longer the game went on the more City grew in confidence with Clucas excelling in his new central midfield role.

As halftime approached City had a corner on the right which resulted in another on the left. The ball was flicked on and both Hernandez and Diamande went up to bicycle kick the ball. Hernandez caught the ball first but his shot flicked onto Diamande and the came off the underside of the bar into the net.

The second half was barely 30 seconds old when Leicester equalised. A through ball was played onto Demarai Gray who was caught from behind by Huddlestone. Yes it was a foul but replays show it was clearly outside the box. However Mike Dean incorrectly gave a penalty which was despatched by Mahrez.

The game was still in the balance but City were matching everything Leicester did. On the hour mark a good move by City ended with a crisp volley by Snodgrass nestling in the right hand side of the net with Schmeichel well beaten.

Leicester brought on all 3 Subs including forward Ulloa but to no avail. Phelan stuck with the same team all the way through and claimed a famous 3 points.

A great win by City which shows the value of team spirit in the FA e of adversity.

Full time Hull City 2-1 Leicester City.

Let’s hope now that the sale is sorted out quickly so Mike Phelan can get some new plays in before the transfer window closes.
