Hull City take on Premiership opposition in the form of Middlesbrough tonight when the teams meet in an F.A Cup third round replay.

The original match was played last Saturday when a late equaliser from substitute Nicky Forster earnt the Tigers a replay. Mark Viduka had earlier put Middlesbrough ahead but Forster’s header meant the Tigers were handed another opportunity to knock out their Premiership opponents.

Middlesbrough fielded a full strength side at the KC and the same is expected for when the Tigers travel to the Riverside. Waiting for the victors is an away trip to either Coventry City or Bristol City. The winner of that match will also be decided this evening.

Hull will travel without Nick Barmby who limped off at half-time against Queens Park Rangers. This will give the opportunity of a start to either Nicky Forster or Stuart Elliott after both players impressed during the dramatic victory over QPR.

With the resurgence of form under Phil Brown, City fans have been left dreaming of an F.A Cup shock. In our recent poll, you voted in your hundreds as sixty-one percent of you said the Tigers can pull off one of the shocks of this year’s cup.

With City’s form putting them joint top of the Championship form table, many fans believe that the influence Phil Brown has had over recent weeks will continue into tonight’s match.

Of course, the Championship bid for survival must take full priority but many fans are hoping that the Tigers can upset Gareth Southgate’s stars. Unfortunately, seventeen percent of fans believe the cup run will end at only the second hurdle.

Tomorrow’s game faces the possibility of extra-time and penalties if the teams can’t be separated. Twenty-three percent of you believed this is where the game will be decided.
