WINDASS STEALS THE SHOW

– Veteran Striker Records Second-Highest Score in Actim Index –

Dean Windass` two goals and overall performance against Birmingham City last weekend has seen the veteran striker record the second highest score of the week in The Actim Index – the Official Player Ratings of the Coca-Cola Championship.

37-year-old Windass, who posed a constant physical threat throughout the match, amassed 49 Index points against the Blues. He scored his first goal from 10 yards after Ray Parlour played an excellent through ball, and then hit his second from the penalty spot after Nicky Forster was brought down in the box.

Actim Stats reveal that, since his return to the Tigers, Windass has contributed two goals, 14 shots, one interception, one dribble, three crosses and 49 passes in 364 minutes of first team football.

Boaz Myhill remains Hull City`s highest-ranking player in the Actim Index in 48th position overall. The 24-year-old USA goalkeeper made a smart save to deny a long-range Gary McSheffrey effort last Saturday. So far this season he has made 218 saves and kept eight clean sheets.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Two additional calculations, which take account of player assists and goalkeeper`s clean sheets, have been added for the new season to increase the amount of variables a player is now measured by.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Hull City players are:

nice to see 2 players in the top hundred, weird how myhills up there although he has kept us in a few games he’s conceeding so many sloppy goals

  • easthulltiger says:

It’s probably because he has a lot to do in games, so he scores more points? Good to see someone liek Turner there after his dreadful start to his City career.

  • thedunedan says:

yeah imagine what he’d be like if he’d started as he’s playing now, we may be higher up the league

  • South Bank Tiger says:

It is good to see Turner feature here, I’m very pleased for the Lad.
Once again, we have Bo referred to as “USA goalkeeper”. Sure he was born in Santa Barbara California, but with a Canadian dad and I think English mum. They lived there for just a few months of Bo’s very early life, and now live near Shrewsbury. It hardly makes Bo an all American boy!

  • thedunedan says:

plus he wants to hold out for an england place, didnt he turn down playing for wales… just because he didn’t know the national anthem

  • South Bank Tiger says:

I’m sure he knows it better than the Star Spangled Banner

  • ernshaw says:

does he know………….on ilkely moor by tat though………..still good to see them up there……….
